Sean Penn has won another award for his charity work rather than his acting, as the Broadcast Film Critics Association announced on Monday that Penn will receive the 2012 Joel Siegel Award at the 17th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards on Thursday, January 12.

Last January, Penn was given the Stanley Kramer Award by the Producers Guild of America for his charitable work.

This will be the fifth time the BFCA has presented the Joel Siegel Award, which is handed out, in the words of the BFCA release, “to those who understand, as Joel did, that the greatest value of celebrity is as an enhanced platform to do good works for others.”

George Clooney will present the award to Penn, who is being singled out for founding the J/P Haitian Relief organization in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck Haiti in January 2010, two years to the day before this year’s CCMA.

“While it was heartening to see such an outpouring of support and aid for the Haitian people in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, the long-term commitment made by Sean and his organization is particularly notable,” said BFCA president Joey Berlin in a release announcing the award.

Penn has previously won Critics Choice Movie Awards for his acting in “Mystic River” and “Milk,” and been nominated five additional times.

The Critics Choice Movie Awards will take place at the Hollywood Palladium and will air live on VH1.

Penn’s honor was not the only awards-related announcement to be made in the last day. The Motion Picture Sound Editors also announced the recipient of its annual lifetime achievement award, which will be handed out at its Golden Reel Awards ceremony on February 19.

George Watters II, a veteran sound editor who has won two Oscars and been nominated eight times, has been named recipient of the 2012 MPSE Career Achievement Award. His Oscars came for “The Hunt for Red October” and “Pearl Harbor,” and his other work includes “Top Gun,” “Armageddon” and “The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.”

And in a third awards-show-related announcement, the screen Actors Guild said that Fiji Water will serve as the official water of the 18th SAG Awards.

Black is beautiful; and in White House it is apparent. Sensenbrenner was overheard saying that after buying all their “crap” (his word) a woman approached him and praised first lady Michelle Obama. Now look at this guy.

68 year old Representative Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.)

He told the woman that Michelle should practice what she preaches, stating — “she lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”

Michelle Obama is obviously the problem, mainly because On January 20, 2009, Barack Obama became the 44th and current president. Giving the American public it’s first look at what a first lady is supposed to look like.

First Lady Michelle Obama

Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner sent a note of apology Thursday to Michelle Obama for referring to her “large posterior” and “big butt,”

On Thursday, Sensenbrenner said in a statement, “I regret my inappropriate comment and I have sent a personal note to the first lady apologizing.”

In this holiday season of giving, let us give Jim a break. This is what he has to look at everyday.

Now we can see why he is HATING!!!!! You be the judge, clearly the Commander-in-Chief, President Barack Obama is #WINNING!!!!!

Kim Jong Il, North Korea’s longtime leader, has died at 69 of a heart attack, state TV reported on Monday in a “special broadcast.”

State media reported that Kim suffered the heart attack while riding a train on Dec. 17, and that he had been treated for cardiac and cerebrovascular diseases for some time. It said an autopsy was done on Dec. 18 and “fully confirmed” the diagnosis.

Kim’s son, Kim Jong Un, is widely believed to have been groomed as a successor, no official announcement has been made.

“Kim Jong-un is not yet the official heir, but the regime will move in the direction of Kim Jong-un taking center stage,” he said. “There is a big possibility that a power struggle may happen.
“It’s likely the military will support Kim Jong-un,” he added.

In a final tactical road march, the last U.S. troops in Iraq crossed the border
into Kuwait on Sunday morning, ending almost nine years of a deadly and
divisive war.

President Barack Obama stopped short of calling the U.S. effort in Iraq a victory in an interview taped Thursday with ABC News’ Barbara Walters.

“I would describe our troops as having succeeded in the mission of giving to the Iraqis their country in a way that gives them a chance for a successful future,” Obama said.

Credit agency S&P has warned six triple A rated governments that their ratings could be lowered to AA+ if a credit watch review is failed. As the Eurozone inches along to make progress, such a move could be devastating and put further stress on the eurozone bailout fund. S&P placed the ratings of 15 euro zone countries on credit watch negative — including those of top-rated Germany and France, the region’s two biggest economies — and said “systemic stresses” are building up as credit conditions tighten in the 17-nation region.

While a credit watch negative typically signals a possible downgrade in no more than three months, S&P said it expects to conclude its review “as soon as possible” following a crucial summit of EU leaders on Friday.
