100 to be laid off in Jamaica’s largest bank
KINGSTON, JAMAICA
Jamaica’s largest bank says it will lay off 100 workers despite posting a record profit last year.

National Commercial Bank says senior managers and clerks will be among those targeted because of the global economic crisis.
Senior Manager Sheree Martin said Tuesday that the layoffs will occur at the end of March.
The bank registered a $114 million profit last year.
It has 2,500 employees and 42 branches islandwide.
